Meeting A Hawaiian Local

Today we met a Hawaiian local. Her name was Alicia and she goes to Honolulu High School. She told us that she was born on September 19, 1997. Which means she is 14 years old right now. She took us to a luau where we wore leis and did the hula beside the Kai.In other words we went to a feast, wore leis, and did a dance beside the sea. So we had a really good time as well as ate a good meal. During the night we  wore muumuus, or gowns, to sleep in. In the morning we went on a Ala trip, or road trip, to a mauna, or mountain. Then we stood on a pali, or cliff, and looked out on the beautiful island. We decided to explore more of the island . We went to a store and bought clothes made out of kapa, or cloth made from beetin  barley. Then we went to a resturaunt and ate poi, or food made from taro plant. During the evening we went to Alicia's house and sat on her lanai, or porch, and sang a mele, or song, and went to bed for the next day to come.
